Understanding Coarse Maurang vs Fine Sand
Homebuilders in Uttar Pradesh frequently encounter two primary types of fine aggregates: Banda Red Maurang and River Sand (Ret). Using the wrong aggregate in the wrong application can jeopardize structural integrity or cause wall plaster to develop spiderweb cracks.
1. Banda Red Maurang (Coarse Aggregate)
Maurang has a high Fineness Modulus (2.8 to 3.2) with larger, angular silica particles. Its jagged surfaces interlock tightly with cement paste and 20mm blue granite stone aggregates, creating a dense concrete matrix with high compressive load resistance. Always use Maurang for:
